Valencia has taken a pivotal step in their efforts to secure the signing of Umar Sadiq as a reinforcement for the upcoming winter transfer window. According to Radio Marca Valencia, the blanquinegro club has established advanced negotiations with Real Sociedad regarding the acquisition of the Nigerian forward. After an initial offer that fell significantly short of Real Sociedad’s expectations, it now appears that Valencia is prepared to proceed with the transfer.

For the first time in several months, negotiations between both parties have reached a stage of mutual understanding. This follows a summer where Valencia was unable to meet Real Sociedad’s demands, despite the player’s persistent desire to leave.

In December, Valencia revisited the possibility of bringing Umar Sadiq to the club during the January transfer window, initially proposing a loan deal of half a million euros with an obligatory purchase option of one million at season’s end. Real Sociedad did not respond to this offer. However, Valencia has now increased their proposal to three million euros for an outright transfer this January, with additional performance-related variables tied to the player and the team’s final league standing.

After joining Valencia on loan last January, Umar Sadiq has consistently expressed a desire to return to the club. This ambition aligns with the intentions of coach Carlos Corberán, who views the Nigerian as a critical addition to enhance the team’s offensive capabilities, a significant area of concern during the first part of the season.
