Valencia CF Prepares for Winter Market and Shareholders MeetingValencia CF Prepares for Winter Market and Shareholders Meeting

In recent years, it has become a tradition for Valencia CF under Peter Lim to utilize the international break in November to refine their winter transfer strategies and prepare for the year-end shareholders meeting, which is likely scheduled for December 22. According to reports from 90 Minuts, CEO Ron Gourlay is set to meet with the club’s ownership this week to address several crucial topics regarding the club’s future.

A primary focus of the discussion will be the approval of the sports restructuring that Gourlay has been outlining since the closure of the summer transfer market. The Scottish executive has indicated that changes are forthcoming, and gradual announcements about these modifications have begun. Notably, the future of sporting director Corona appears to be outside the club, and alongside the number of professionals to be hired to enhance global player scouting, Gourlay is expected to propose a list of key individuals for the new sporting direction and technical secretariat, all under the increased influence of the coach in the sporting planning.

In addition to initiating the new structure, this meeting typically serves to establish the framework for the General Shareholders’ Meeting and finalize the budget. It is anticipated that the meeting date will be set for no later than Monday, December 22. However, current General Director Javier Solís will not attend due to a family matter.

Furthermore, the agenda will also address the most pressing sporting issue: the team reinforcements for the winter transfer window. The club has hinted at the potential arrival of up to four players during this period, although such acquisitions would necessitate the departure of current squad members. The most urgent needs are in the defense and forward positions.
