Valencia Confirms Injury for Defender Rub n IranzoValencia Confirms Injury for Defender Rub n Iranzo

omidbasir- Valencia CF announced on Saturday that defender Rubén Iranzo has sustained a sprain to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. This injury occurred during a training session held on Friday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna. According to the medical report, the player will follow a therapeutic plan that includes medical treatment, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation until his clinical recovery allows him to rejoin the team.

The final training session before the match against Real Madrid revealed two additional updates concerning the right-back position. Thierry Rendall successfully completed the last session and may be included in the squad, likely starting on the bench, as he has just returned to group training this week. Conversely, Foulquier was absent from the session, having trained separately in the gym due to ongoing muscle discomfort. If Foulquier is unable to participate, Coach Corberán may consider altering the system to play with three central defenders due to the lack of available options in that position.

It is worth noting that Iranzo’s injury occurred during a training session designated for players who did not start in the Copa del Rey match against Athletic. He experienced an unusual movement in the joint, which led to his withdrawal due to pain and subsequent medical examinations to assess the extent of the injury. Initial concerns among the player and within the locker room were significant; however, early assessments ruled out a ligament tear.

The final diagnosis confirms that it is a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in the right knee, causing considerable pain, swelling, and functional instability, with recovery times varying based on the severity of the injury.

From this Saturday onward, Iranzo will be under medical supervision in Paterna, where he will begin his recovery plan. The club has not provided a timeline for his return, as it will depend directly on his progress over the coming weeks.
