Valencia Derby Insights from David NavarroValencia Derby Insights from David Navarro

omidbasir- David Navarro, a former player with a history at Valencia and Levante, highlighted the intense rivalry and balance between the teams as they prepare for the Valencia derby this Friday at Mestalla. He noted that there is a significant level of competitiveness and equality in this matchup that was not as pronounced in the past.

“Every derby is unique. The stakes are higher than in any other match, and there’s always an extra motivation involved. The experience is often more intense, especially with the supporters present. I recall the derbies at Mestalla; they are always memorable games to participate in,” Navarro remarked in an interview with VCF Media Radio.

Navarro emphasized that the clash is likely to be closely contested. “Valencia, playing at home, must take the initiative and secure a win in front of their fans. Both Valencia and Levante are closely positioned in the standings. I hope we see many more derbies in the future,” he expressed.

Furthermore, he mentioned that he has only played once at Ciutat de València, recalling that it was during a season when Levante was relegated, which he described as unfortunate.

For Navarro, a victory for Valencia would serve as a crucial turning point following a streak of seven games without a win. He stated, “Valencia CF needs this victory, as winning a derby provides a significant boost in confidence and helps clear the mind for upcoming matches.”

Lastly, he underscored the importance of the home crowd at Mestalla, noting, “The fans are always reliable and bring tremendous energy. I believe the match against Betis was the most complete performance of the season so far, and Valencia deserved to win.”
