Valencia Nears Signing of Argentine Midfielder Guido Rodríguez

Valencia is on the brink of securing Argentine midfielder Guido Rodríguez, currently with West Ham United, as reported by journalist Matteo Moretto in MARCA. The agreement, nearing completion pending final details, involves a loan arrangement extending until June 2026.

Rodríguez, a 31-year-old World Cup champion with Argentina from the 2022 Qatar tournament, has seen limited action this season in the Premier League, having participated in just six matches totaling 177 minutes. This lack of playing time has prompted his desire to seek a move for greater competitive continuity.

In recent weeks, several clubs, including Brazilian teams like Gremio, have expressed interest in his situation. However, Valencia has gained an advantage as the winter transfer window approaches its conclusion, driven by the need to bolster their midfield with an experienced, defensively-minded player at a low cost.

Rodríguez joined West Ham in the summer of 2024 after five successful seasons with Betis, but his tenure in England has been inconsistent, preventing him from establishing himself as a regular starter.

Valencia views the Argentine international as a key reinforcement to provide balance and defensive solidity in the midfield, particularly following inconsistent performances during the first half of the season.
