Valencia has officially welcomed Guido Rodríguez, the third reinforcement for the winter transfer market. His arrival in Manises took place late Sunday afternoon, with the primary aim of finalizing his contract and beginning work under the guidance of coach Carlos Corberán. Upon landing at the airport, Rodríguez stated, “I come to contribute; I am eager to meet the team and my colleagues.”

The 31-year-old Argentine player joins Valencia after terminating his contract with West Ham, a move that accelerated in recent hours following several days of uncertainty. Both Rodríguez’s determination and the strong insistence from Valencia’s coach were pivotal in facilitating his transfer. “We had several conversations, and here we are, happy to be together,” he remarked after arriving at Valencia Airport.

Rodríguez’s official signing will be confirmed once he passes a medical examination and finalizes the contract. He shared that the transfer was resolved on Friday: “A couple of days ago, discussions were ongoing, and until you arrive at the airport and sign, things remain uncertain.”

On Monday, Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo the necessary medical checks, and once completed, he will sign a contract that ties him to Valencia until the end of the current season. He explained the rationale behind the short-term contract: “That’s how these operations work; we are fortunate that it was able to happen. Everyone involved was pushing for it, and what’s important is that I am here today.”

Rodríguez’s arrival aims to strengthen the midfield with an immediate performance profile, bringing in experience from LaLiga, which has been a top priority for Corberán since the market opened. Having spent four and a half seasons at Betis as a key player, Rodríguez is well-acquainted with the league. Notably, Betis will be his first opponent upon his return to competitive play, as Valencia’s next match is scheduled for Sunday. “I noticed the calendar; it’s going to be something very special for me, and I am looking forward to it,” he commented.
