Vedat Muriqi Named LaLiga Player of the Month for January 2026

Kosovar forward Vedat Muriqi has emerged as one of Europe’s most formidable strikers, scoring five goals in January for Mallorca. His remarkable performance has led to his selection as the Player of the Month for January 2026 in LaLiga. Muriqi netted goals in his team’s early losses against Girona and Rayo Vallecano, but it was his hat-trick against Athletic Club in Son Moix that truly showcased his talent, contributing to a 3-2 victory. This impressive tally of five goals enabled him to surpass notable players such as Vanat, Sorloth, Marcos Alonso, and Guedes in the voting.

Muriqi continues to enhance his legacy at Mallorca. Having joined the team on the final day of the winter transfer window in 2022, few could have anticipated the strong connection he would develop with the club, the island, and the goal itself.
