VfB Stuttgart Among Clubs Eyeing Defender Maxim HesselVfB Stuttgart Among Clubs Eyeing Defender Maxim Hessel

omidbasir- According to reports from Bild, VfB Stuttgart is among several clubs showing interest in Maxim Hessel, a defender currently playing in the fourth tier of German football.

Hessel, who plays for Carl Zeiss Jena, has attracted attention from multiple teams in the top two divisions, with his contract running until 2027. This upcoming transfer window presents Jena with a crucial opportunity to secure a fee for the talented 20-year-old, who is currently valued at €125,000 by Transfermarkt.

As many as eight clubs may be pursuing Hessel, with VfB Stuttgart and Dynamo Dresden noted as notable contenders.

This season, Hessel has impressively scored seven goals in 20 matches as a centre-back. His current club, a former East German side, is positioned second in the Regionalliga Nordost, trailing Lokomotiv Leipzig.

While players like Younes Ebnoutalib have demonstrated that significant transitions between leagues can be successful, it is important to note that Hessel may not be an immediate option for Stuttgart. The centre-back position is quite competitive within Sebastian Hoeneß’s squad, which currently includes six senior centre-backs: Jeff Chabot, Finn Jeltsch, Ramon Hendriks, Luca Jaquez, Ameen Al-Dakhil, and Dan-Axel Zagadou.
