Sport Bild and local outlet Stuttgarter Nachrichten report that VfB Stuttgart has identified seven specific strikers as targets for the upcoming January transfer window. The Bundesliga club has already been linked with Racing Santander’s Jeremy Arévalo, Newcastle United’s William Osula, and Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo.

In addition to these players, the two German sources, as cited by transfermarkt.de, have included four more names on Stuttgart’s wishlist. The club is also considering Bologna’s Thijs Dallings, Union Saint-Gilloise’s Promise David, Club Brugge’s Romeo Vermant, and Viktoria Plzen’s Rafiu Durosinmi. Notably, Durosinmi almost made a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt last year, but complications during his medical examination hindered the move.

Stuttgart had also shown interest in South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu at the conclusion of the autumn transfer window; however, he ultimately failed his medical with KRC Genk, which prevented the signing.

Following the unexpected departure of Nick Woltemade, which netted €75 million from his sale to Newcastle, Stuttgart found themselves in a favorable financial position. Despite late acquisitions of Tiago Tomas (€13 million) and Badredine Bouanani (€15 million), the club’s transfer surplus has risen to over €65 million. This strong financial standing suggests that VfB Stuttgart is poised to make significant moves in the January transfer market.

Among the names on the list, Romeo Vermant stands out as a particularly intriguing candidate. The Belgian U21 international is the son of former Schalke player Sven Vermant and was born in Gelsenkirchen. Currently, the 21-year-old has an estimated market value of €8 million.
