omidbasir- VfB Stuttgart’s head coach, Sebastian Hoeneß, and lead striker, Ermedin Demirovic, have shared their anticipation regarding their Europa League playoff encounter against Celtic at Parkhead for the 2025/26 season. Although the Bundesliga club hoped to bypass the UEL playoffs, the opportunity to play at Parkhead is viewed as a significant experience.

“Celtic is a team that has found its form, currently on a ten-match unbeaten streak,” Hoeneß stated during the pre-match press conference on Wednesday. “This is one of the toughest draws we could have faced, yet it is also one of the most appealing.”

“We are looking forward to competing in such a historic and esteemed stadium,” Hoeneß added. “The size of the venue and the electric atmosphere are sure to present challenges, but they also serve as a tremendous motivation. These are the types of matches you aspire to experience when you qualify for this competition.”

Reflecting on his past experiences, Hoeneß mentioned, “During my time coaching Bayern’s U19 team, we played a Youth League match at Celtic. After our game, we stayed to watch the first team. Angelo Stiller, a former player of mine at Bayern and Hoffenheim, was with me on that occasion.”

Demirovic also shared his thoughts, stating, “Arriving at such a renowned stadium, one that I have watched on TV since childhood, is something truly special. Celtic represents a highlight for us. The atmosphere will be incredible, but we are accustomed to high-energy environments at home as well.”
