VfB Stuttgart Seeks Striker Reinforcements Ahead of New YearVfB Stuttgart Seeks Striker Reinforcements Ahead of New Year

Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart is aiming to bolster its striker options as the new year approaches.

Due to an injury to Ermedin Demirovic, Stuttgart currently has only one fully fit striker, Deniz Undav, who has regained his form after recovering from injury. Nevertheless, the club is keen to add another striker to their roster at Mercedesstraße.

One potential target is Belgian striker Lucas Stassin from St. Etienne. The 20-year-old has made an impact with four goals and three assists this season as Les Verts strive to regain promotion to Ligue 1. Stuttgart has engaged in negotiations with Stassin regarding a transfer to the Bundesliga; however, St. Etienne is reportedly demanding €40 million, a figure deemed excessive by Stuttgart.

In light of this, Stuttgart has begun exploring alternative options. Newcastle striker William Osula has emerged as a possible target, although he faces competition from fellow Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, with the player reportedly favoring a move to Deutsche Bank Park.

Additionally, Stuttgart has shown interest in Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar. The 23-year-old has been in impressive form, scoring 14 goals in 16 matches this season and recently played a crucial role in Ireland’s World Cup playoff qualification.

Parrott previously declined a move to Wolfsburg during the summer when the club made an €18 million offer. Given Stuttgart’s reputable status and the allure of European football, a transfer to Neckarstadion may be considerably more attractive for the young forward.
