Villarreal CF is set to travel to South America, specifically Brazil, this upcoming summer to undertake a portion of their preseason activities. During their stay, the Yellow Submarine will compete in three friendly matches, with the opponents and venues yet to be announced. This arrangement follows the club’s successful agreement with the Vitória Cup.

According to Villarreal’s official statement, this international tournament will host some of the world’s leading football clubs in Brazil, taking place from July 4 to July 30, 2026. Furthermore, the Vitória Cup has become an official partner of Villarreal CF in Latin America.

The competition will feature Brazilian teams such as Botafogo and Santos, along with South American clubs like Olimpia from Paraguay, Sporting Cristal from Peru, América de Cali, and Vélez Sarsfield. Additionally, European clubs including Olympique de Marseille, Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Fiorentina, and West Ham are expected to participate.

Fernando Roig Negueroles, the club’s CEO, stated that Villarreal’s presence in Brazil signifies a milestone for the organization: “This will be the first time our team plays in Brazil. It is an important step for us, given its significance in terms of sports and international relations. Brazil is a key country in our global expansion strategy. We have a promising agreement with the Pelé Academy and are eager to enhance our presence in a nation with such a rich football tradition. We are excited about participating in the Vitória Cup and competing against top-level teams. We believe this presents a significant opportunity for Villarreal CF in every aspect.”
