Wesley Sneijder’s Potential Return to Ajax: Discussions with Jordi Cruijff

Sneijder and Cruijff are engaged in talks regarding a potential role at Ajax. Cruijff, a former footballer, has long expressed his willingness to support the Amsterdam club. Recently, he confirmed his communication with Sneijder: “Indeed, I have been in contact. We will sit down and discuss things soon,” he shared during an appearance on Rondo. He noted that their exchange was via a message, adding with a laugh, “We are on speaking terms.”

In a column for De Telegraaf, Wim Kieft predicted the return of several club icons to Ajax. “FC Barcelona is a bit like Ajax, and Ajax is a bit like FC Barcelona,” he remarked. “Therefore, it seems only a matter of time before Cruijff brings back former Ajax players and involves them with the club, as this is something that is currently lacking in Ajax’s identity.”
