omidbasir- Weston McKennie is poised to be without a club at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. As he prepares for a home World Cup this summer, he is expected to play a crucial role in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

It is likely that the 27-year-old will wait until after another major international tournament before making a pivotal decision regarding his future. Juventus has not abandoned its desire to secure McKennie’s services with a new contract.

However, McKennie is keeping his options open as he seeks a financial package commensurate with his abilities and experience. Clubs in England may be prepared to meet these demands.

Since his less-than-stellar performance at Leeds, McKennie has made positive strides, with a significant point to prove to Premier League skeptics. Leading teams in the league have been advised to pursue astute business opportunities, as a proven performer will soon be available without a transfer fee.

USMNT legend Ramos, speaking in partnership with Ozoon, expressed confidence in McKennie’s ability to thrive in any top English club. He stated, “Weston McKennie is a player who can perform in any position on the field. His contributions to Juventus over the past few months have been invaluable, and he has played various roles from right-back to center mid and attacking mid. He consistently finds himself in goal-scoring positions and makes a difference on the field. Juventus’s recent recovery has, in part, been due to McKennie’s exceptional performances.”

Ramos further commented on his desire to see McKennie return to the English Premier League (EPL), emphasizing, “Juventus is a prestigious club, but I believe McKennie can enhance any team. I would personally love to see him back in the EPL with a title-contending club.”

Former USMNT goalkeeper Brad Friedel echoed this sentiment, asserting that McKennie is destined to join a club that reflects his vibrant personality. Friedel recalled, “When I was the U19 head coach, I recognized McKennie’s exceptional talent. After the first training session, I remarked to my staff that he would excel at Tottenham. He should be at an incredible club, as he is a remarkable talent. While his stint at Leeds may not have showcased his abilities fully, he should not be judged solely on that experience.”

McKennie, who joined fellow Americans Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, and Jesse Marsch at Leeds, has described his time there as “the lowest point in my professional career.”

Since then, he has made a remarkable comeback, regaining favor at Juventus after being written off multiple times. Having spent five years with the Serie A giants in Turin and amassing over 200 appearances, it seems 2026 may usher in a new chapter in his career.
