Wim Kieft Critiques Feyenoord’s Recruitment Strategy

omidbasir- Wim Kieft has expressed his dissatisfaction with the new players brought into Feyenoord, not only those acquired during the summer of 2025 but also the winter signings of the current year.

René van der Gijp, in the podcast KieftJansenEgmondGijp, pointed out that Feyenoord can no longer effectively compete in the transfer market with clubs like Anderlecht or RC Genk. “NEC is asking for as much as twenty million for a player, while clubs such as Club Brugge and RSC Anderlecht are demanding thirty million without hesitation. This is simply the reality we face now.”

In contrast, Van der Gijp commended PSV for their superior transfer dealings: “It’s impressive that PSV has managed to assemble such a strong team,” he remarked, referring to players who possess the capability to perform consistently at a high level. He emphasized that the new signings at Feyenoord would not be able to secure a starting position at PSV, stating, “These players are not above average. The left winger, for instance, is entertaining, but he wouldn’t be a starter at PSV.”
