Wout Weghorst has indeed faced a significant year filled with challenges and achievements. For a striker like him, particularly during his time with Ajax, such dynamics are to be expected. This pattern was evident even during his earlier tenure at Heracles Almelo from 2014 to 2016.

There was one at FC Emmen who had considerable height and managed to score occasionally. A fortunate detail was that his father owned all those Avia gas stations. The thought was, if we signed him, we might also secure his father as a sponsor.”
