Zinchenko Nets First Goal for Ajax in 2-0 Victory Over Telstar

A day after making his debut for Ajax, Oleksandr Zinchenko scored his first goal for the club in a friendly match against Telstar, held at the team’s training complex. Ajax secured a 2-0 victory over their fellow league competitor.

The friendly encounter served as an excellent opportunity for Ajax to allow players to gain additional match rhythm. Zinchenko, who joined from Arsenal, had previously made his Ajax debut on Sunday against AZ, where he played for about fifteen minutes. In the match against Telstar, the Ukrainian found the back of the net, marking a successful start to his career in Amsterdam.

Additionally, winter signing Takehiro Tomiyasu made his return to the field, coming on after halftime. The Japanese defender is in the final stages of his recovery from a prolonged knee injury. Although he has been cleared medically and made a brief appearance against Excelsior earlier this month, Ajax is being cautious in reintroducing him to competitive play. Furthermore, Steven Berghuis also made his return to the pitch, marking his first minutes since overcoming his own injury.
